As a nursing student, one of the biggest challenges is mastering the complex anatomy and physiology topics while managing multiple exams such as TEAS and HESI. From my experience, breaking down detailed subjects like the brachial plexus into clear sections helps tremendously. For example, understanding nerve roots, trunks, divisions, cords, and the individual nerve branches clarifies how symptoms relate to specific nerve injuries. I found drawing out the brachial plexus, including nerves like the ulnar, radial, and median, really reinforced my knowledge. The ulnar nerve’s journey from the arm to the hand and its innervation of muscles in the hypothenar region became easier to recall through repeated visual mapping. Also, remembering the radial nerve's pathway through the arm and forearm helped me link clinical signs like wrist drop to specific nerve damage. Using mnemonics and flashcards for nerve functions and associated muscle groups proved invaluable. For instance, the median nerve’s involvement in pronator teres and flexor muscles is a key point that often appears in exams and practical assessments. Finally, practice exams focusing on these topics reinforced my learning and improved my time management. Proctoring tools simulating actual online exams reduced test anxiety by familiarizing me with the format. Overall, combining structured content reviews with interactive study methods and exam practice is essential for passing challenging nursing entrance and online exams confidently. If you’re preparing for TEAS, HESI, or anatomy courses, focusing on these strategies can significantly boost your success.
