My Colorful Journey - Prt. 4
I think that the BEAST is the story of ALL of us. Learning to love the imperfections, embracing motherhood and womanhood in general. The story behind this sculpture applies to every woman- no matter her color or creed.
I really wanted to add on to the already powerful message that Vanessa is conveying. Giving the Women in our community the opportunity to join in, reflect and be able to color their OWN beast within! My beast is yellow and pink! But another woman might relate her beast being a totally different color! And as we know- colors have meanings! I think it would be interesting to see everyone's interpretation of themselves is- positively.

The journey of self-expression through art is a profound experience that resonates with many individuals. Vanessa German's sculpture, 'The Beast,' symbolizes womanhood and motherhood, reflecting the idea that imperfections are beautiful. The use of colors is significant, as each color conveys unique emotions and qualities. For instance, yellow often represents joy and optimism, while pink signifies compassion and love. This interpretation encourages individuals to color their personal 'beasts' according to how they see themselves, promoting a journey of self-acceptance and creativity. Color therapy has gained popularity as a way to heal and express emotions visually. Engaging with colors can enhance mood and improve mental well-being, making art not just a visual experience but a therapeutic one as well. Users are invited to participate by showcasing their interpretations of 'The Beast' and sharing their own stories of empowerment through color. Moreover, initiatives like community art projects create platforms for women to come together, share experiences, and celebrate diversity through artistic expression. The Wichita Art Museum not only displays such impactful artworks but also fosters a space where discussions about art and identity flourish. Embracing the message of 'The Beast' can inspire countless women to find strength in their individuality and see beauty in their life stories.
