what to eat for a yeast infection (vaginal health)

Diet is CRITICAL to yeast infections! Especially if you’re getting recurrent infections. Just two in a year is considered recurrent!

Getting recurrent infections shows there’s an imbalance in your microbiome. Supporting your good bacteria in your gut & vaginal microbiome is key to restoring balance.

Yeast infections are not fun (I had them for 3 years) and it really helps to avoid the foods listed above to help starve them out. But you also need to be adding nourishing foods back in!

Hope these tips help 🤍🤍

To keep yeast at bay, focus on incorporating foods rich in probiotics, such as Greek yogurt, kefir, and kimchi. These can help maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in your gut and vaginal microbiome. Prebiotic foods like bananas, garlic, and asparagus also support gut health by feeding the beneficial bacteria. Avoiding sugar is crucial since yeast thrives on it; hence, limiting sugary snacks, soda, and desserts is advised during an infection. Instead, opt for complex carbohydrates like whole grains and legumes, which provide sustained energy without feeding the yeast. Healthy fats from sources like avocados and nuts can help maintain blood sugar levels and reduce inflammation. Lastly, remember to hydrate well! Drinking plenty of water aids your body's detox process and supports overall health. By focusing on these dietary changes, you can better manage yeast infections and enhance your vaginal health.
