energy givers vs energy takers

knowing what fills your cup is important! Make sure to identify what gives you energy whether it’s a person, place, activity, food etc!

V.S.

what drains your cup or takes away your energy! Sometimes we can’t always avoid energy takers like work lol

BUT that’s why we should identity givers vs takers so after a draining day or week we can fill our cup back up!

Hope this helps!!🥹✨

... Read moreI remember feeling so exhausted all the time, even after a full night's sleep. It felt like I was constantly running on empty, and I couldn't figure out why. That's when I stumbled upon the concept of 'energy givers' and 'energy takers,' and it completely shifted my perspective on daily life and well-being. It’s not just about getting enough rest; it’s about consciously choosing what we let into our lives. It’s a crucial step in any self-care routine and for overall mental health. For me, identifying my energy givers was like finding hidden gems. I realized that a simple dose of sunlight first thing in the morning instantly boosts my mood. Putting on my favorite music while I’m cooking or cleaning isn't just background noise; it's a powerful pick-me-up. I always thought exercise was just for physical health, but my daily walks have become non-negotiable for my mental clarity and energy levels. And don't even get me started on the power of laughing with friends – it’s pure magic! Things like preparing healthy food for myself or dedicating time to meditation and true rest are acts of self-care that genuinely fill my cup. It’s about recognizing these small, positive actions and intentionally making space for them in your day to ensure you're getting the energy healing you need. Then came the harder part: facing the energy takers. Oh boy, these were eye-opening! I used to spend so much time scrolling through social media, unconsciously falling into the trap of comparison. That feeling of 'not good enough' was a huge drain on my spirit. I also noticed how much lighter I felt when I started setting boundaries with people who brought negativity or engaged in gossip. It’s tough, but sometimes you have to protect your peace from those toxic people. And let's be real, chronic stress is a beast, and too much screen time before bed left me feeling wired and tired. I also realized that days when I wasn't moving my body at all left me feeling sluggish, not rested. These are the things that truly take away your energy. The key for me was not just identifying them, but actively creating strategies. For givers, it means scheduling them in, even if it’s just 15 minutes of music or five minutes of meditation. For takers, it’s about mindful reduction or finding coping mechanisms. Can I limit my screen time by setting an alarm? Can I politely excuse myself from gossip? It's a continuous journey, but truly understanding what fuels me and what depletes me has been transformative for my mental health journey. It empowers me to take control and ensure my energy cup isn't just full, but overflowing!
