When I’m dissociating vs when I’m actually calm
This is how I can tell now ⬇️
When I’m dissociating I get a weird feeling in my body. It’s hard to describe but it feels icky & like my body and me are disconnecting.
I can feel tense in muscles like my calves & my stomach gets really bloated! I can feel kinda tired and out of it.
This will happen to me when I’m in work meetings because it’s kind of boring but I have to be there and so I subconsciously would dissociate. I hate the feeling so then it would make me so anxious!!
When I realized that I was experiencing dissatisfaction, it helped me recognize triggers and thought patterns that lead me there.
I realized when I feel calm, I feel present & happy! I can think clearly and creatively. I actually feel good in my body!!
if I start to dissociate I can pull myself out of it now or at least not get anxious about it!
Does anyone else experience something similar??

Dissociation is a complex experience that many encounter when overwhelmed. It often manifests as a feeling of detachment from oneself, leading to tension in muscles and a sense of disconnect. Understanding your triggers is crucial. For instance, work meetings might induce feelings of boredom, which can lead to dissociation. Recognizing these patterns is the first step in managing them. On the other hand, experiencing calm is characterized by clarity and presence. People often report feeling happier and more engaged when they are not dissociated. To cultivate a state of calm, incorporating mindfulness practices, like meditation, can be beneficial. These techniques help ground you in the present, allowing you to navigate anxiety more easily. Additionally, engaging in physical activities, such as walking, can refresh your mind and body, reducing the risk of feeling overwhelmed. By developing an awareness of your emotional state, you're better equipped to respond to stressful situations and maintain a sense of control.

Yes 🤚 I understand this all to well. It's horrible so I had to step outside and intake mother nature for awhile
