Do you enjoy being home alone?🥹
I used to hate being home alone. I would feel scared and uncomfortable in my own thoughts so I’d do anything to keep myself busy or distracted!
But over the last year living alone I slowly learned how to actually enjoy my own company 🤍 i did that by making routines that I really enjoyed and that brought me peace!
It started as small acts of self care like turning on a red light before bed, making a nourishing dinner for myself, going on walk after work, keeping my space clean because it made me feel good, not because anyone else would see it.
Somewhere in all of that, being alone stopped feeling lonely and started feeling peaceful. This was a time for me to reset and charge my own battery!
What’s one thing that makes being alone feel comforting for you?🫶🏻

Learning to enjoy being home alone can be a transformative experience, especially when approached mindfully. Many people start with feelings of discomfort or loneliness, but by creating meaningful routines, this time can become sacred and restorative. One powerful way to embrace solitude is by making 'getting ready for the day' or 'preparing for bed' special moments. Lighting a candle or saying affirmations can help shift your mindset to one of calm and intention, turning ordinary tasks into rituals that foster peace. Another key is preparing nourishing meals rather than quickly throwing together food. Taking the time to cook a wholesome dinner shows self-respect and care, supporting both body and mind during moments alone. Your environment plays a huge role in how you feel when alone. Keeping your space clean and decorating it to make you feel safe and comfortable can make a big difference. This creates a sanctuary where you can truly relax without distraction. Additionally, incorporating a wind-down routine at night—perhaps involving dim red lighting or gentle stretches—can help you decompress, signaling your nervous system that it's time to rest. For those who find solitude overwhelming, balancing time at home with time outside can help. Getting out for a walk after work or during the day reduces the amount of time spent alone, making the moments at home feel more intentional and less isolating. Ultimately, the goal is to shift from seeing alone time as lonely to viewing it as a powerful opportunity to reset and recharge. By personalizing small rituals and caring for your environment, you nurture both comfort and inner peace during your solo moments at home.
