From my recent visits, I found that the classic Disney snacks truly stand out, especially churros and the iconic dole whip. I managed to eat 11 churros over four days, and they never got old—crispy, sweet, and perfectly satisfying. Dole whip deserves its legendary status; the regular dole whip scored a perfect 10/10 in my book, but if you want an even more indulgent treat, definitely try the dole whip float, which I rated 11/10. It’s a superior way to enjoy this pineapple soft serve with a fizzy twist. An unexpected delight was the pavlova, which surpassed my expectations with its delicate texture and sweetness, earning an 11/10 rating. Unfortunately, they were closed when I tried to grab a second one! Other favorites included the mac and cheese served in a sourdough bread bowl—classic comfort food with a Disney twist—and the beignets, which I absolutely loved and rate a 10/10 for fluffy, powdered sugary goodness. On the flip side, some items didn’t quite live up to the hype. The chicken gumbo was just okay, nothing spectacular, and the birria grilled cheese felt overhyped compared to many online reviews. For beverages, I experimented with a few options. The strawberry dole whip float was an 8/10, but the strawberry flavor reminded me too much of strawberry candies, which wasn’t my favorite. The blue milk drink, inspired by Star Wars, tasted a bit like stale soda and got a low score of 4/10. Another colorful drink, the red, white, and blue layered one, was too sweet and didn’t blend well, resulting in a 3.5/10 rating. If you’re not a big fan of lemon, you might want to skip the Matterhorn puff, which I found average at 6/10, but it could be somebody else's favorite. Overall, my Disney California food experience was memorable and delicious. I recommend focusing on the classic treats like churros and dole whips, while being a little cautious with some of the more hyped items. What’s your favorite Disney snack? I’d love to hear your recommendations for my next trip!
