Testosterone ftm
Welcome to my journey 🥰🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️⚧️
Welcome to my journey! Starting testosterone was a huge step for me, and I know many of you might be wondering what to expect. This isn't just about the physical changes; it's a whole new chapter. I'm excited to share my experience and hopefully provide some insight into what the FTM testosterone timeline can look like, especially focusing on those crucial early effects. One of the most anticipated and talked-about effects of testosterone for trans men is bottom growth. For me, it started pretty subtly within the first few weeks. It felt like a constant tingling or sensitivity, almost like things were waking up. This sensitivity was sometimes combined with a slight ache, which I learned was completely normal as things started to change. Over the first few months, I noticed significant growth. It wasn't always a linear process; some weeks seemed more active than others. It's a very personal experience, and everyone's timeline and extent of growth will vary, but understanding that initial sensitivity and gradual change is key. I found that wearing looser underwear and being mindful during certain activities helped manage the new sensations. Beyond bottom growth, other effects of testosterone for FTM individuals started to appear. My voice began to drop around the 2-3 month mark, starting with a crackling sensation and gradually deepening. Facial hair growth was slower for me, but I noticed some darkening of existing peach fuzz and new, fine hairs appearing, particularly on my upper lip and chin after about six months. My body odor also changed, becoming more masculine, and my sweat glands seemed more active. Skin changes, like oiliness and acne, were also part of my early journey, which I managed with a consistent skincare routine. Increased energy levels and shifts in emotional regulation were also noticeable; sometimes I felt a bit more irritable, but mostly I felt a sense of calm and alignment I hadn't experienced before. Monitoring testosterone levels is incredibly important throughout this process. It's not just about getting on T, but about finding the right dose that keeps your levels in a healthy, typically male range. I had regular blood tests, especially in the first year, to ensure my levels weren't too high or too low. Having testosterone levels too high FTM can lead to some unwanted side effects, like increased irritability, acne, and potentially even your body converting excess T into estrogen, which is counterproductive. My doctor and I worked closely to adjust my dosage based on my blood work and how I was feeling. It’s a collaborative effort, and open communication with your medical provider is crucial for a safe and effective transition. Remember, this journey is unique for everyone, but sharing our experiences can make it feel a little less daunting.
