Have you ever heard that "if the hairpin has a point in the back, it means fake," we used to believe that, but according to our collection and comparison, we found that it is not always the case.

According to the reviews I've read, it's usually based on the normal version of the hairpin or the current call, most of which don't have the back of the hairpin leg.

But....In fact, some genuine hairpins have the point of the back of the hairpin leg.

The first model we found was the Kuromi Hologram, which was the first hairpin we bought, which was not yet in the collectible industry. It was bought from a reliable store. Both the package and the hairpin looked all authentic, but the back of the hairpin leg was lit.

When I watched the review, many people said, "There is a fake point." 🥺

So we finally bought another friend from Japan to compare them, and as a result, they were almost identical at every point and had the same hairpin back.

Another version found is the pvc rubber hairpin. This collection has three types: Sugarbunnies Usahana and Corocorokurin also have a spot on the rear hairpin leg.

Besides...Some hairpin models in the new collection also have this look, such as the Kuromi Hologram, the 2024 version of Hello Kitty, and the 2025 version of Cogimmyun Hologram (the one in the photo).

And another version that we're not sure about is My Sweet Piano. We've seen people sell in collectors with two dots in the middle of the hairpin legs, but we didn't buy it, so we can't tell. However, none of the six pairs of pianos we kept had a hairpin. 🤨
