getting back into my routine (part 1)
When life throws us off our regular rhythm, it can be challenging to regain that sense of structure and flow. I’ve found that recognizing the disruption is the first crucial step—whether it’s due to changing seasons, unexpected events, or shifts in priorities. For me, skiing season often brings both excitement and a disruption to my usual routine, requiring me to adapt. One effective approach to rebuilding a routine is to start with small, manageable actions. Focus on consistency over intensity—it's better to do a little every day than to overhaul everything at once. For example, incorporating a set wake-up time, dedicating moments for mindful breathing, or scheduling particular times for working or relaxing can anchor your day. It’s also important to embrace patience and self-compassion. There will be days when the routine feels effortless and others when it’s a struggle. Remember, routines are flexible frameworks that serve you, not rigid rules. Another key factor is aligning your routine with your personal goals and lifestyle. Some days might prioritize physical activity like skiing, while others focus on work or rest. By acknowledging these shifts, you can create a dynamic daily structure that supports overall well-being. Sharing this experience is part of the journey—connecting with others facing similar challenges can provide motivation and fresh ideas. Ultimately, the goal is to prove to yourself that consistency is attainable and that structure, while sometimes lost, can be found again with intention and kindness toward yourself.
