Dealing with burnout?

I’ve been thinking about how often I say “I’m fine” when I really mean “I’m tired, overwhelmed, and unsure.”

This year taught me that growth does not always look loud, sometimes it looks like quietly choosing yourself.

I have changed a lot about how I think about life and what I’m doing!

I have dealt with burnout with my jobs and hobbies that I used to enjoy a lot.

It helps me if I take a step back and think about why I’m really doing something. Taking a relaxing day off or using the day to just get things done really helps me!

What are other things that help you deal with burnout?

... Read moreBurnout is an increasingly common issue in today’s busy world, affecting not only our work but also our personal lives and hobbies. Many of us often say "I'm fine" when we really feel tired, overwhelmed, and uncertain. Recognizing this feeling is the first crucial step in managing burnout. One effective approach to dealing with burnout is pausing to reflect on why you are engaged in a particular activity. Asking yourself whether something brings joy or simply adds to stress can guide you in prioritizing what truly matters. Sometimes, growth and self-care manifest in quiet choices—like deciding to step back and focus on your well-being rather than continuously pushing forward. Taking intentional breaks is essential. This can mean dedicating a day to relaxation, without guilt, or using that time to complete small tasks that reduce mental clutter. These pauses help recharge your energy and improve focus. In addition to rest, finding new ways to reconnect with hobbies can keep burnout at bay. If certain activities once brought pleasure but now feel burdensome, try modifying how you engage with them or exploring new interests that reignite your passion. Social support also plays a significant role. Sharing your experiences of burnout with trusted friends, family, or community groups like #burnoutrecovery can provide comfort and practical advice. They might offer perspectives or coping strategies you haven’t considered. Lastly, practicing mindfulness and self-compassion is vital when recovering from burnout. Understand that it’s okay to set boundaries and choose yourself first. This mindset shifts the focus from overwhelming productivity to sustainable growth and wellbeing.

I don’t like saying I’m fine anymore. I try to express myself accurately like “could be better,” “I’m tired,” “hanging in there,” cus that’s really how I feel
