My No Buys For 2026
I figured I would jump on this trend!
1. Beauty and Skin Care
Hear me out, I have a lot of beauty products I am not using and should be! There are things I have stock of that I need to use! I won’t buy any new products until I have used these up!
2. Shampoo and Conditioner
I have so much shampoo and conditioner that I have bought to try in the last year. I need to use some of these up before I buy new ones!
3. New Subscriptions
With the subscriptions I do have, I really do not need any more, if anything, I need less.
4. Books
Last on the list, I have a lot of books that I haven’t read yet. I keep buying new ones and reading those instead of the ones I already have!
What are your no buys?
Starting a no buy challenge for 2026 has been a game changer for me. One key insight I’ve gained is that having a clear list of categories to avoid helps in staying committed and reducing impulse buys. For example, in beauty and skin care, instead of feeling deprived, I’m learning to appreciate the products I already own. This means applying them more regularly and noticing what truly suits my skin rather than constantly chasing new items. Using up my shampoo and conditioner stockpiles also prevents waste and saves money. I’ve realized that subscribing to fewer services not only cuts monthly expenses but also frees up mental space. It’s helpful to regularly review current subscriptions to decide which ones bring value and which just clutter my budget. On books, I’m tackling the unread pile by dedicating time each week to reading what I already own. This reduces the urge to purchase new books impulsively and helps me focus on enjoying the stories or knowledge waiting on my shelves. Overall, embracing a no buy mindset encourages mindfulness and financial discipline. It’s about valuing what you have, curbing unnecessary shopping habits, and creating a sustainable lifestyle. If you’re thinking about your own no buys, consider categories where you tend to overindulge and try a focused approach like this—it’s incredibly rewarding to see progress and savings grow over time.
