Notice how almost everything I said is an over processed protein source 😎
As someone who has been on a journey from being 30 pounds overweight to a personal trainer, I’ve learned firsthand how important it is to choose the right protein sources. Over-processed proteins, like many commercial protein shakes, bars with whey, and even certain meats and dairy products, can have additives, preservatives, and ingredients that don’t support optimal health or weight loss. For example, Premier Protein shakes and whey protein bars often contain artificial sweeteners and processed ingredients that can interfere with digestion and satiety. Similarly, non-grass-fed red meat doesn’t provide the same nutrient profile and can contain higher levels of unhealthy fats. Personally, switching to whole, minimally processed protein sources, such as grass-fed meats, organic chicken, and natural dairy alternatives, has made a significant difference in maintaining my weight and energy levels. Also, some popular snacks like Lenny & Larry’s Cookies or Catalina Crunch Cereal, while marketed as health-conscious, can be surprisingly processed. By focusing on real, clean foods and avoiding these over-processed options, I’ve improved my overall nutrition and feel better every day. If you’re on a similar journey, consider evaluating your protein intake and try to prioritize whole foods over processed alternatives for lasting results.
