One thing I always emphasize is the importance of balance. For instance, starting my day with steak and eggs at home provides a strong protein base, essential for muscle repair and sustained energy. Snacks like apples paired with Greek yogurt satisfy my sweet tooth while adding fiber and probiotics to support digestion. Meals such as homemade carbonara and a 'lite' chicken parm offer comfort and rich flavors without overwhelming calories, especially when prepared with mindful substitutions like Greek yogurt or lean chicken thighs. Tuna salad with a Greek yogurt base is another favorite for its creamy texture and added protein benefit, showcasing how minor recipe tweaks can make classic dishes healthier. I also enjoy simple preparations like over-easy eggs and leftover green chicken thighs to minimize waste and keep meals exciting. This approach reflects the reality many of us face: balancing a passion for baking and cooking with the science of good nutrition.
