Most useful print for my helmet! (So far)

It was a tiny little free print but it's been a huge upgrade! Saying it took 30 minutes is an overstatement, and even though it's not permanent I'll probably print extras for other helmets. It just slides in between the pad and the helmet and has a couple good magnets glued in so it can hold onto whatever. My usual set up is one side I have my mic and the other side my little Insta360 Go3s. And before you ask no they really aren't noticeable, if anything it might make me turn my head a little more but it honestly just seems like the edge of the helmet. Best part is both are small enough I can still use the built in sun visor!

I recently tried a 3D-printed insert designed to slide between the interior padding and the helmet shell. What makes this setup truly unique are the small but powerful magnets embedded in the print. These magnets securely hold lightweight gear such as mics and compact action cameras like the Insta360 Go3s. One of the best aspects of this design is that it’s non-permanent but sturdy enough to hold devices in place during rides without noticeable bulk. Unlike many helmet mounts that obstruct vision or interfere with built-in features, this insert is slim enough to still allow use of the helmet's integrated sun visor. The magnets minimize the need for adhesives or bulky straps and make it easy to remove or reposition devices. From my personal experience, the print took less than 30 minutes and was free, which is impressive for how much utility it adds. The ability to customize it for different helmets is a huge plus too. It offers an excellent way for users who want to mount media or communication devices without damage or permanent modification to their helmets. For fellow riders and tech enthusiasts interested in 3D printing, this project highlights how small mods can significantly upgrade user experience. Plus, using magnets offers a clean solution that avoids complicated installation. If you’re into capturing rides with cameras like the Insta360 Go3s or want a hands-free mic setup, this type of printed insert is definitely worth trying out. It strikes a great balance between practicality, comfort, and technology integration in helmet accessories.
