Drop me a “Hi!”☺️
Hey fellow Gen Xers! I'm a proud 1988 grad, and lately, I've been feeling incredibly nostalgic for our era. You know, the good old days when mixtapes were king, MTV actually played music videos, and getting a call on a landline meant sitting by the kitchen phone. Isn't it wild to think about how much has changed? I often find myself wondering where all my people are at! If you're a GENX kid like me, especially if you graduated around '88, you know there's a unique bond we share. We grew up right as technology was really starting to take off, but we still experienced a childhood largely unplugged. We were the latchkey kids, inventing our own fun outdoors, and coming home to reruns of 'The Cosby Show' or 'Family Ties'. What are some of your most cherished memories from the 80s? For me, it’s everything from the fashion (neon, big hair, shoulder pads – oh my!) to the music that defined a generation. Think Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Bon Jovi... the list goes on. Each song instantly transports me back. And let's not forget the movies! 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', 'The Breakfast Club', 'E.T.' – they weren't just films; they were rites of passage. I'm so keen to hear from other 1988 grads and 80s enthusiasts. Did you rock a Walkman? Spend hours at the arcade? Or maybe you were obsessed with Cabbage Patch Kids or Transformers? There's something truly special about connecting with others who understand the cultural references and inside jokes of our youth. Let’s create a space to share those forgotten gems and laugh about how much cooler we thought we were back then. Come on, tell me, where are my people at?!
