Support local bookstores!✨

Last year I visited a bookstore in my hometown called Nowhere Bookstore💕 unfortunately, I had set a goal for myself and was on a book buying band at this time and I actually stuck with it and did not purchase anything here

A year later, I am no longer on a book buying ban.

For some context, last year I was on a book buying ban for a couple of months for 2 big reasons: 1, I had a lot of books on my physical TBR and I had a habit of buying physical books that I had read on my kindle for free, and 2, because we were on a very strict budget back then and I couldn’t afford to spend money on books that I knew I could get somewhere else cheaper.

The other day I finally decide to splurge ✨ I had no idea what I wanted to buy but then I found this non-fiction book that I had not seen at other book stores.

I live in Texas where it’s hot majority of the year, and I love to read end of the world books. So for a non-fiction, this definitely seems like a bone-chilling (no pun intended) books to read.

Plus I’m glad I was about to support an independent bookstore.

This store has a very small selection but if you go in without the intentions of finding a specific book, you’re bound to walk out with something you didn’t expect you’d find.

... Read moreVisiting local bookstores offers more than just a shopping experience; it fosters community and supports small businesses. Independent bookstores often have a curated selection that reflects the owner’s passion and expertise, ensuring you find unique titles you won’t see in larger chains. When you step into a local shop, each shelf holds a promise of discovery, from indie authors to rare gems. Beyond just books, these places often host events like book clubs, author signings, and readings, making them cultural hubs in your neighborhood. Supporting local bookstores also leads to a more sustainable economy—keeping money within the community. Plus, engaging with bookstore staff can lead to invaluable recommendations tailored to your taste. In environments like Texas, where climate can add to the urgency of finding great reads, these bookstores become havens for book lovers seeking an escape. By purchasing books from local shops, you not only find delightful stories but also contribute to enriching community culture and preserving the charm of reading. So, the next time you're on a quest for your next great read, remember the treasure trove of knowledge and culture waiting for you at your local bookstore!
