... Read moreWhen I first tried cold udon at SG TAKA, the experience reminded me of enjoying similar dishes in Japan, especially the smooth texture and refreshing taste suited for warm days. One tip I found helpful is to enjoy the udon immediately after serving to fully appreciate its ideal firmness and flavor. Cold udon varieties like Kake Udon come with a hot or chilled broth poured over the noodles, creating a comforting yet light meal. Alternatively, Zaru Udon is served with chilled noodles placed on a bamboo tray alongside a separate cold dipping sauce. Adding condiments such as spring onions to the dipping sauce enhances the taste even more. Slurping your udon not only helps cool down the noodles as you eat, but it also amplifies the flavors and shows appreciation for the dish—this traditionally Japanese way of eating truly elevates the experience. I highly recommend pairing your cold udon with tempura sides as they provide a wonderful contrast in textures. Plus, SG TAKA offers affordable options, making it easy to enjoy authentic Japanese cold udon bowls without breaking the bank. If you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or want to try something new and refreshing, cold udon at SG TAKA is definitely worth a visit!
