Milk Foaming Primer Review
Finally getting around to trying the #milkmakeup Foaming #Primer
Honestly, I wound up liking this way more than I thought I would. Overall rating: 7️⃣/🔟✨ My major complaint is the price tag. $28 for less than an ounce of product (0.91 oz) is insane! 😵💫😖🤯 I will use it until it's gone but won't purchase again. Even though it's a unique, progressive, working product... I have other primers that work just as well and it's just not worth the💲impho.
So, let's dive a little deeper into this Milk Makeup Foaming Primer, often referred to as the Cloud Glow Priming Foam! Beyond just the initial price shock, I wanted to explore what makes this product unique and if its promised benefits truly deliver. When you first dispense it, it comes out as this wonderfully light, airy foam – it genuinely feels like a cloud! It's so refreshing on the skin, a stark contrast to heavier, silicone-based primers. Applying it is straightforward: a quick shake, then a small pump is usually enough for the whole face. I found that a little goes a long way, and it absorbs surprisingly quickly, leaving behind a subtle, slightly tacky finish. This tackiness is actually a good thing, as it helps foundation and other base products really grip onto the skin, prolonging their wear. Unlike some cream or gel primers that can feel suffocating, this one feels absolutely weightless and never greasy, which is a huge plus for anyone, especially those with combination or oily skin types like mine. One of the key things that initially caught my eye, and something I paid close attention to during my testing, is the inclusion of 'Brightening Turmeric.' Milk Makeup claims this contributes to that 'Cloud Glow' effect, and I must say, my skin did appear a bit more radiant and even-toned after application. It definitely created a smoother canvas, subtly blurring minor imperfections without adding any heavy coverage. My makeup typically lasted quite well, extending its wear for about '6 hours later...' without significant creasing or fading, which is a decent performance for a primer, though not groundbreaking compared to some heavy-duty options. Who is this primer really for? I think it would be a fantastic choice for those who love a lightweight, refreshing feel and want a primer that won't contribute to oiliness. If you're seeking a subtle 'Cloud Glow' and a smoother base without a heavy feel, this could be your new go-to. However, if you have very dry skin, you might find it a bit too light on its own and might need to layer it over a more hydrating serum or moisturizer to get the best results. Now, back to the elephant in the room: the 'Price: $28.00' for a mere '0.91 oz' ('27 ml'). It's undeniably a steep investment. While it’s a 'unique, progressive, working product' that performs well, the cost per ounce is significantly higher than many other excellent primers on the market. For me, a primer needs to be truly revolutionary and irreplaceable to justify that kind of price tag, especially when my current favorites deliver comparable results for a fraction of the cost or offer a larger quantity. It certainly feels like a luxury item rather than an everyday staple. So, if you're intrigued by the foaming texture or the brightening benefits but the price makes you hesitate, what are your options? While a direct dupe for the exact foaming texture might be hard to find, there are many primers that offer similar blurring, smoothing, and even brightening effects without such a hefty price. For a lightweight, blurring effect, look for silicone-free options. If it's the 'brightening' aspect you love, many affordable primers now incorporate ingredients like Vitamin C or subtle pearlescent pigments to give a similar glow. My practical advice? If you’re genuinely curious, try to snag a sample if you can, but don't feel pressured to splurge if your current primer works well. There are plenty of fantastic makeup prep products out there that won't break the bank!
