Butterfly inspired makeup
Halloween fun using Ucanbe Athena palette @Lemon8 Beauty #HalloweenBeauty #Halloween2024 #Lemon8Challenge
Okay, Lemon8 fam, I'm so excited to share how I brought my 'Butterfly Witch' fantasy makeup to life this Halloween! When I was brainstorming ideas, I wanted something magical yet a little dark, and combining the delicate beauty of butterflies with a spooky witchy vibe felt just right. It's not just for Halloween either; this look is perfect for any fantasy-themed event or cosplay! Getting Started: The Foundation of Fantasy First things first, I prepped my skin with a hydrating primer to ensure my makeup lasted all night. For this look, I opted for a slightly paler base than usual to give that ethereal, almost otherworldly witchy glow. Don't forget setting powder, especially if you'll be dancing or out and about! Eyes: Where the Magic Happens The eyes are truly the centerpiece of this butterfly witch transformation. I started by using some deep purples and blues from my Ucanbe Athena palette, focusing on creating a smoky, elongated wing shape that extended towards my temples. Think mystical forest witch! Then, here’s where the butterfly element comes in: I used a small, fine-tipped brush and a bright, shimmery pigment (a vibrant teal or iridescent lavender works wonders!) to draw delicate butterfly wing patterns around the outer corners of my eyes, blending them into the smoky base. You can freehand them or even use a stencil if you're feeling less confident. I added a touch of glitter to the inner corners for that extra sparkle. For a truly enchanting look, don't shy away from some dramatic false lashes – they really open up the eyes and complete the butterfly effect. Witchy Details: Lips & Brows To complement the eye makeup, I kept my lips a bit darker. A deep berry or even a black lipstick can add that perfect touch of witchy mystique. If you want something softer but still magical, a metallic purple gloss over a nude liner works beautifully. For the brows, I went for a slightly more defined, arched look to frame the fantasy eye makeup. You can even add a touch of iridescent brow gel for an extra ethereal touch. Adding the Butterfly Flair: Face Art & Embellishments This is where you can really let your creativity soar! I used liquid liner and face paint to draw more intricate butterfly wing outlines on my cheekbones and forehead, mimicking the natural flow of a butterfly's flight. Don't be afraid to experiment with different sizes and shapes. For an extra magical touch, I glued on tiny rhinestones or sequins along the butterfly wing outlines – it catches the light beautifully! You can also incorporate real or faux butterfly embellishments into your hair or costume for a cohesive look. Think delicate clips or even a small fascinator. Finishing Touches: Setting the Spell Once all your details are in place, a good setting spray is your best friend. This ensures your intricate fantasy makeup stays put, allowing you to enjoy your Halloween fun without worrying about touch-ups. I absolutely loved creating this look, and I hope my tips inspire you to try your own butterfly witch transformation! It's all about embracing that magical, creative spirit. What fantasy looks are you planning this season?
