Coach Brooklyn 28 Straw bag Pros & Cons
You know the @coach Brooklyn 28 is one of my favorite bags styles from Coach.
Pros of this bag: it's big enough to fit all your daily essentials and then some! Perfect for those who love a bag not too big (like a tote) or too small. Its the perfect size shoulder bag.
Brooklyn 28 comes in suede, leather or straw! I have all 3 but I love the straw for summer ☀️ as you can tell
Cons: Its one big open hole of a bag. There are no separators or dividers or size pockets. You can always buy a bag organizer to keep your essentials in order.
And for the straw bag specifically (suede and leather are gorgeous) while I'm obsessed woth the raffia material it can feel a bit flimsy at times. Also bag might feel too "casual" or "beach bag" for some. I personally love taking this with me to work or errands, I don't use it as a beach bag

I just wanted to add a bit more about my experience with the Coach Brooklyn 28 Straw Bag, especially since it's become such a go-to for me. When I first got the straw version, I was a little worried it might feel too casual, almost like a beach bag, as some people mention. But honestly, it's all about how you style it! I've found it incredibly versatile. For work, I pair it with linen trousers or a simple sundress and a blazer, and it adds such a chic, relaxed touch without looking out of place. It instantly elevates a simple outfit for a summer day in the office or even a casual business lunch. And for running errands? It's simply perfect. Toss it over your shoulder with jeans and a tee, and you're good to go. It truly adapts to so many different looks, making it far more than just a 'beach bag.' One of the main points I brought up was the lack of internal organization – it's basically one big open space. And yes, that can be a drawback if you like everything neatly compartmentalized. But here's my secret: I invested in a simple felt bag organizer. You can find tons of options online specifically designed for shoulder bags of this size. It's a game-changer! I can keep my phone, wallet, keys, and lip gloss in their own pockets, and the main compartment is still free for my water bottle, a small book, or even a compact umbrella. It completely solves the 'open hole' issue and makes the bag much more functional for daily use. Trust me, it’s worth the small extra investment to make this beautiful straw bag work perfectly for you. Another thing to consider with a straw or raffia bag, particularly if you're worried about it feeling flimsy, is how to care for it. While the Coach Brooklyn 28 is well-constructed, natural materials like straw can be delicate. I always try to avoid overstuffing it, which can stress the material. If it gets a little dirty, a soft, damp cloth is usually all you need to gently wipe away any marks. I also make sure to store it properly during the off-season, ideally in a dust bag, to protect the straw from dust and prevent any potential crushing. A little care goes a long way in keeping your Coach straw bag looking pristine for many summers to come. When it comes to what I can actually fit in my Brooklyn 28, it surprises me every time. It's not massive, but it's deceptively spacious. For a typical day, I easily fit my large iPhone, a cardholder, a small pouch for cosmetics, my keys, a pair of sunglasses in their case, a compact hand sanitizer, and even a small water bottle. If I'm heading to work, I can add a small notebook or a Kindle without feeling like it's bursting at the seams. It really strikes that perfect balance – not too big that it feels cumbersome, but not so small that you have to leave essentials behind. It’s truly earned its spot as one of my favorite Coach bags, especially for those warmer months!
