Day 60 | truth is that it doesn't get easier

I used to think a cut gets easier the longer you do it… but I’m realising it’s kind of the opposite. Our body starts resisting, it adapts, and suddenly everything requires more effort. Hungers feels different, cravings pop up on random days, and the progress slows down even when I'm doing the same things.

Now, it's less excitement, more routine. Despite everything what matters the most is that I'm still showing up, still choosing me. One day at a time 🤍

At the beginning, everything feels new and motivating, but as weeks go by, your body adapts by slowing metabolism and triggering unexpected cravings. For me, the key has been accepting that this resistance is normal and requires more mental resilience rather than just physical effort. One practical strategy that helped me was focusing on nutrient-dense, low-calorie meals that keep me fuller without breaking my calorie goals. For instance, I often have fruity cereal with berries and yogurt for breakfast, which is just around 198 calories but feels satisfying. Bean curd without sugar or soymilk clocks in at only about 68 calories, making it a great snack or side. I also love protein muffins as a treat because they offer around 250 calories but deliver good protein to support muscle maintenance during the cut. Incorporating tomatosalsa with sweet potato and chicken breast became a staple dinner for me—balanced, flavorful, and filling without excess calories. These meals help manage hunger pockets and random cravings that inevitably pop up during extended dieting. What motivates me the most is recognizing that showing up daily and choosing myself matters more than the excitement of fast results. Weight loss is as much a mental journey as a physical one. Staying consistent with routines, even when progress slows, ensures long-term success. So, to anyone struggling halfway through their cut: keep trusting the process, listen to your body, and celebrate the small wins. One day at a time is the way forward.
