Iced Blueberry Latte
Homemade blueberry syrup 🫐
1 cup of blueberries
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of maple syrup or water (I use maple syrup to use this with my pancakes, waffles, or French toast 🤤)
Teaspoon of bourbon vanilla bean paste
cook everything in a saucepan for 5-7 min or until it simmers. I let it cool then use a blender, after I use a mesh strainer.

Adding homemade blueberry syrup to your iced latte not only enhances the flavor but also gives you control over the sweetness and ingredients. The syrup itself is straightforward to prepare—combining fresh blueberries with brown sugar and a touch of bourbon vanilla bean paste creates a rich, fragrant base. Many people prefer using maple syrup or water as the liquid component; maple syrup adds an extra layer of sweetness and pairs beautifully with breakfast items like pancakes and waffles. When making the syrup, simmering the mixture until it thickens allows the blueberries to release their natural juices, blending with the sugar and vanilla for a perfectly balanced taste. After cooking, cooling and blending the syrup ensures a smooth texture, while straining through a mesh sieve removes any solids, resulting in a clean, vibrant syrup. This syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for several days, making it a convenient addition to your coffee routine. For the iced blueberry latte itself, simply add the syrup to your chilled espresso or strong brewed coffee, then top with cold milk or a milk alternative of your choice. The combination of the tart blueberry syrup and the robust coffee creates a refreshing and flavorful drink ideal for warm weather. Experimenting with homemade syrups like this can elevate your at-home coffee experience, offering not just unique taste but also the satisfaction of crafting your own ingredients. In addition to iced lattes, blueberry syrup can be used creatively in cocktails, desserts, or as a topping on yogurt and ice cream. This versatility makes it a great ingredient to keep on hand, especially during blueberry season or when you want to add a fruity flair to your favorite recipes.
