Our hormones fluctuate throughout the month and play a HUGE role in how we feel

Your hormones directly affect your energy levels, sex drive, mood, appetite & more

Cycle syncing is learning how to properly nourish, move & live your life for the four different phases of your cycle

Moon cycle (1-5 days) progesterone production drops off, estrogen peaks then drops. Slow things down, rest & recovery are crucial during this time. Focus on nutrient rich foods, water rich fruits & veggies, seafood & sea-based veggies, broths & grassfed beef

Follicular phase (7-10 days): estrogen & progesterone are on the rise. Creativity is high, focus on projects, make plans with friends. Fresh, vibrant light foods will support you in feeling more energized during this phase. Salads, lean proteins, fermented foods, eggs & grassfed meats. Enjoy higher intensity/heavier weight lifting & group fitness classes

Ovulatory phase (3-4 days): estrogen levels continue to increase while testosterone takes a quick surge & then drops around ovulation. Take advantage of heightened communication skills and have those important conversations. Go easy on the carbs and stick to lighter grains like quinoa & corn. Incorporate more veggies & fruits high in antioxidants. Grassfed beef, salmon & lamb. Focus on high impact workouts, heavy weight lifting and group fitness classes.

Luteal phase (10-14 days): progesterone & estrogen are on the rise. Towards the end of this phase your progesterone production will halt & testosterone will increase. You’ll notice you want to spend more time alone, clean the house, & a big focus on your self care routine. Focus on foods rich in b vitamins, calcium, magnesium, & fiber. During the first half your energy is still high so take advantage of that in the gym, while in the second half focus more on low impact workouts & lighter strength

By understanding the menstrual cycle's phases—menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal—you can tailor your diet and activities to better align with your body's needs. During the menstrual phase, focus on rest, hydration, and nutrient-rich foods like leafy greens and iron-rich options to support recovery. In the follicular phase, as energy begins to rise, incorporate lighter, energizing foods such as fruits and whole grains while engaging in invigorating workouts. The ovulatory phase presents an ideal time for social interactions and tackling new projects, so choose nutrient-dense foods that enhance communication and creativity, such as berries and lean proteins. Finally, during the luteal phase, emphasize self-care—opt for comforting, hearty meals with b vitamins and fibers while engaging in lighter workouts to maintain balance. By adopting these cycle syncing strategies, you not only nurture your hormonal health but also empower yourself to experience wellness on a deeper level. Remember to pay attention to your body's signals and adjust your lifestyle accordingly for optimal hormonal balance.
