How to cycle sync for balanced hormones!

Comment “cycle” to have my cycle syncing ebook sent directly to your inbox!

let’s break it down 👇🏻

think of your menstrual cycle like the four seasons, each one bringing its own vibe!

you can adjust your lifestyle, workouts, and nutrition to match each phase to support the rise & fall of your hormones 👇🏻

💐 follicular phase = inner spring : time to renew and start fresh! great time to make plans with friends & work on that project! Focus on lighter foods like salads and smoothies. Your energy is rising, so try new workouts like cardio, HIIT, strength

☀️ ovulatory phase = inner summer : you’re at your peak! you’ll most likely feel your most confident and social self, plan date nights, go out with friends! enjoy fresh fruits and veggies, and go for high-energy workouts like HIIT or group classes

🍁 luteal phase = inner fall : Slow things down and get cozy. Think warm, grounding foods like roasted veggies and stews. Switch to more moderate exercise like Pilates, yoga or low impact strength training

❄️ menstrual phase = inner winter : Rest and restore. Embrace comfort foods like soups and stews, and focus on gentle movement like walking or stretching

By tuning in and syncing up with your cycle, you can feel more balanced, energized, experience lessened PMS symptoms, and feel more in tune with your body

... Read moreOkay, so let's get real about our cycles and that ever-changing energy! Before I started cycle syncing, I felt like I was constantly battling my body – one week on top of the world, the next completely drained. Learning to listen to my menstrual cycle and adjust my lifestyle has been truly transformative for my energy levels and overall well-being. It’s not just about hormones; it’s about feeling consistently good, no matter what phase you’re in. Follicular Phase (Inner Spring: Days 1-14): Embrace Rising Energy! This is your fresh start! As your estrogen levels begin to rise post-period, you'll likely feel a natural surge in motivation and energy. This is the perfect time to tackle new projects, socialize, and enjoy more vigorous workouts. For nutrition, focus on 'light, fresh, fermented' foods to support detoxification and healthy estrogen metabolism. Think vibrant salads, gut-friendly sauerkraut, and foods rich in 'omega 3, zinc & magnesium' like flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, and leafy greens. I love incorporating high-intensity interval training (HIIT) or strength training here, as my body feels ready for it, and it really helps boost my energy for the day. Ovulatory Phase (Inner Summer: Days 15-17): Maximize Your Peak! Welcome to your peak performance days! Energy is at its highest, and you might feel most confident and outgoing. This is when I plan my most challenging workouts – think power yoga or intense cardio sessions. Nutritionally, focus on 'colorful foods' and 'antioxidant-rich berries' to protect cells and support healthy hormone release. Raw carrot salad is great for detoxifying excess estrogen, and plenty of 'cruciferous veg' like broccoli and kale are fantastic 'liver-loving foods' that aid in hormone balance. Ensuring you get quality protein and vitamin C during this phase can help maintain that vibrant energy. Luteal Phase (Inner Fall: Days 18-28): Nurture & Conserve! This phase often brings a gradual shift as progesterone rises, preparing for potential menstruation. You might notice your energy starting to dip, so it's crucial to shift gears to 'nurturing foods' and more moderate exercise. I find this is when my body craves 'warming, nutrient dense' meals like roasted root veggies, stews, and hearty soups. Focus on 'magnesium/iron rich food & plenty of fiber' to combat potential cravings and support gut health. Foods like lentils, dark leafy greens, and bananas are great. For workouts, I switch to 'low impact strength, yoga & pilates' to support my body without over-stressing it. It’s also wise to 'avoid alcohol & caffeine' as they can exacerbate PMS symptoms and disrupt sleep, further impacting your energy. Menstrual Phase (Inner Winter: Days 1-5): Rest & Restore! This is your time to truly rest and recharge. Energy levels are typically at their lowest. Embrace comfort foods, but make them nutrient-rich. 'Cooked veg > raw' is a great tip here, as cooked foods are easier to digest and provide warmth. Think hearty soups, bone broth, and stews. Incorporate more 'red raspberry leaf tea' which is known for its uterine-toning benefits. Gentle movements like walking, stretching, or restorative yoga are perfect for supporting your body's restorative process without depleting your already lower energy reserves. Prioritizing sleep and minimizing stressors are key to rebuilding your energy for the next cycle. By tuning into these natural rhythms, you can proactively manage your energy, reduce PMS, and truly feel more empowered within your own body. It's all about working with your cycle, not against it!
