Endometriosis
🎗️ march- endometriosis awareness month🎗️
Too many surgeries, medical records, treatments, appointments to fit onto one post.
One bad doctor who operated too many times with ill intent.
The finding of doctors who actually provided me with care that I deserved!
Cervical cancer cells removed, laparoscopy, endometriosis removal, bladder wall dissection from pelvic sode wall, endometriosis removed from urinary bladder, cysts removed, appendix removed d/t adhesions, hysterectomy, remaining ovary removal.
Pain. Depression. Grief. Too much too handle.
I felt unworthy of love.
I felt like a burden since I was 19 years old!
I felt like I was in a never ending cycle.
I felt like I was disappointed. Disappearing.
Endometriosis was taking over. I was vanishing.
✨💛🪴 a sparkle, love & growth- I am renewed.
Endometriosis is a chronic condition that affects many aspects of life beyond the physical pain. From my own experience and stories shared within the community, the journey often involves not only enduring multiple surgical procedures but also grappling with emotional turmoil such as depression and a sense of isolation. The condition can lead to frequent medical visits, numerous treatments, and sometimes encountering healthcare professionals who may not fully understand or effectively treat the disease. I found that keeping an organized medical record of all treatments and surgeries, such as laparoscopies to remove cysts and endometriosis lesions, was crucial in communicating effectively with specialists. My experience included complex surgeries like bladder wall dissection and dealing with adhesions that sometimes required removal of organs like the appendix and ovaries. These procedures, although daunting, progressively improved quality of life when managed by compassionate and knowledgeable doctors. Pain management remains a significant challenge. Pharmacological options such as Lupron can help but are not always definitive solutions. Emotional support—through therapy or support groups—plays a vital role in overcoming feelings of grief, unworthiness, and the overwhelming burden that the disease imposes. Sharing stories during Endometriosis Awareness Month helps raise understanding and reduces the stigma associated with this condition. It also highlights the importance of persistence in seeking the right care and maintaining hope for renewal and growth even after life-altering surgeries. Embracing a holistic approach—addressing physical symptoms and emotional health—empowers those impacted to regain control and advocate for their wellbeing.
