Me? With a sunburn? In this economy?! 🌞
Relax — this is just post-microneedling chic
Microneedling has one of my favorite easy, not a lot of downtime skin care treatments that I have been pursuing this year
Why I love it
Stimulates Your Skin’s “Self-Repair Mode”
Tiny needles create micro-injuries that kickstart your skin’s natural healing process. This boosts collagen and elastin — the proteins that keep skin firm and bouncy.
Smooths Texture & Softens Scars
Helps fade acne scars, fine lines, and rough patches so skin feels smoother to the touch.
Targets Stubborn Pigmentation
Can improve the look of sunspots, melasma, and uneven skin tone over time.
when I get micro needling, there is a little downtime, but I do not wear make up for the first two or three days following treatment. My skin does feel tender, but I’ve noticed after having six treatments the downtime is significantly less each time.
The most uncomfortable part about this is the hot itchy feeling that happens in the evening, especially when the weather is warm I ice my face in the evening and it goes away right away .
I love when brands send super specific products for redness and irritation because post micro needling is my time to actually see what works
obviously, it’s never a good idea to integrate something new into your routine when your skin is so sensitive but that’s the life of being a skin care influencer 😉
I’m really impressed with the new @EADEM Mami water — the spray nozzle is actually incredible as well as the formula. It’s light, soothing and I’ve been putting this in the fridge to give myself a cool mist throughout the day.
@Skinfix foaming oil cleanser FTW!!
Also big fan of the @INNBEAUTY PROJECT correcting serum
And of course @Bloomeffects Tulip Nectar has been my most reliable product in this category. The founder @Kim Van Haaster has eczema prone skin and created this product exactly for situations like this and when your skin is dry, and needs a boost!
Microneedling is a popular minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that creates tiny micro-injuries on the skin's surface using fine needles. This triggers the skin’s natural healing mechanisms, stimulating collagen and elastin production, which are essential for maintaining skin firmness and elasticity. Regular treatments can significantly improve skin texture by smoothing out scars, fine lines, and rough patches, making it a favorable choice for those seeking enhanced skin quality without prolonged recovery time. A common concern with microneedling is post-treatment sensitivity, including redness, tenderness, and an itchy, warm sensation especially noticeable in warm climates or evenings. Managing this sensitivity effectively is vital to ensure skin comfort and optimize healing. Cooling the skin with ice packs or chilled mist sprays can alleviate discomfort and reduce inflammation. For this purpose, specialized products formulated to calm redness and irritation are highly recommended. One standout product is the Eadem Mami Water, known for its ultra-calming formula and innovative spray nozzle that delivers a gentle, cooling mist. Keeping this spray refrigerated intensifies its soothing effect and helps diminish post-treatment heat and itchiness. Alongside, cleansing is critical; a gentle foaming oil cleanser like Skinfix helps maintain skin hygiene without stripping moisture or causing irritation. To address pigmentation and further support skin healing, serums with correcting properties, such as those from Innbeauty Project, offer targeted treatment to improve uneven tone and reduce the appearance of sunspots and melasma over time. Additionally, the Bloomeffects Tulip Nectar is designed specifically for sensitive, dry skin that can benefit from a hydration and barrier-repair boost post-procedure. Created by a founder with eczema-prone skin, this product is formulated to be both effective and soothing. It is important to avoid introducing any new skincare products immediately after microneedling treatment unless they are recommended for sensitive skin or post-procedure care. Post-microneedling skin is especially vulnerable; hence, opting for gentle, proven formulations is key to preventing irritation and promoting optimal recovery. In summary, microneedling offers several skin benefits including collagen stimulation, scar softening, and pigment correction. Managing downtime with proper care — including cooling, gentle cleansing, and the use of calming and hydrating products — maximizes results and keeps skin comfortable. Incorporating these strategies makes microneedling an accessible and effective skincare treatment for improving overall skin health and appearance.
