RM8 Wanton Mee Worth Trying in JB

Finally tried this well-known JB wanton mee and got to say the noodle texture is excellent. Super QQ and springy! Char siew was a bit so-so for me, but the crispy pork lard totally saves the day — adds fragrance and that addictive crunch that makes the whole bowl feel shiok. 🤤

Loved the wantons too! Whether soup or fried, both were tasty with a surprisingly flavourful pork filling inside. A bowl of noodles starts from RM8 and 10pcs fried wantons are only RM8. Hard to find prices like this nowadays. 😳

They even have an air-conditioned area where you can sit and enjoy your meal comfortably. Worth checking out if you’re in JB!

... Read moreIf you're a fan of dry wanton mee or searching for the best wanton mee near KSL in JB, Tampoi Ah B Wanton Noodles is a hidden gem worth trying. From my experience, the noodles stand out with their excellent QQ texture—springy and chewy just the way you want for authentic JB style. Although the char siew was not outstanding for me personally, the crispy pork lard completely elevated the dish with its rich aroma and satisfyingly crunchy texture. I highly recommend ordering the fried wantons alongside the noodles; their pork filling is flavor-packed and pairs perfectly whether served in soup or dry style. One of the biggest perks here is the affordable pricing—dry wanton mee bowls start from only RM8, and you get 10 pieces of fried wantons for just RM8 as well. It’s hard to find such value for money in JB! Pro tip: Visit during off-peak hours to enjoy a comfortable meal in their air-conditioned dining area. The outlet operates from 9:30am to 5pm and closes once every two weeks on Fridays, so plan your visit accordingly. Overall, this spot offers a fantastic combination of taste, affordability, and comfort. Whether you are a local or just exploring Johor Bahru's foodie scene, Tampoi Ah B’s wanton mee is definitely worth adding to your list.
