... Read moreWhat an incredible December it was for a Pokémon trainer like me! I'm still buzzing from all the fantastic achievements, both in Pokémon Go and with my card collection. It truly felt like a perfect end to the year. First off, catching a shiny Greninja in Pokémon Go was a dream come true! I'd been hoping for one, and to finally see that special sparkle pop up was exhilarating. My shiny Greninja, with its impressive CP 2508 and Water/Dark typing, is now a prized member of my team. For anyone out there still hunting for their own shiny, my best advice is to participate actively in Community Days and special events where specific Pokémon are featured. Using Incense and Lure Modules, as I often do during my daily walks – like the 1610m adventure where I caught a Sandshrew recently – can also increase your chances of encountering those rare finds. Beyond the thrill of shinies, December also brought some serious medal prestige! Earning the Platinum Idol medal in Pokémon Go felt absolutely incredible. This medal is awarded for becoming Best Friends with 20 Trainers, which definitely takes a lot of consistent effort, like sending gifts daily and participating in raids together. It’s a wonderful testament to the vibrant Pokémon Go community and the friendships you build along the way. Speaking of raids, I also achieved the Gold Rising Star Duo medal, which means I've won 1,000 raids with a friend! It just goes to show how much more fun and rewarding the game becomes when you team up with others. These medals aren't just for bragging rights; they really do reflect your dedication and journey in the game. My Pokémon TCG collection also received some fantastic additions. Pulling that stunning Japanese Sylveon ex card, with its beautiful holographic design and 270 HP, was such a highlight! And I can't forget the powerful Greninja ex (Tera type) with 310 HP and its impressive 'Shinobi Blade' and 'Mirage Barrage' abilities – a real standout for any deck. I also added a lovely Japanese Espeon ex and a classic Vaporeon card to my binders. There's a unique joy in opening a pack and finding a card you've been wishing for, whether it's for competitive play or simply to admire the intricate artwork, like those by Yuka Morii. Overall, December was a whirlwind of Pokémon adventures. It's moments like these that make being a Pokémon fan so rewarding, and I'm already looking forward to what January 2025 will bring! Happy New Year to all my fellow trainers!
