Got fed up!
I could never find exactly what I wanted in a soap, so I started making my own! That way I could choose each oil, butter and additives that I wanted for my skin. Whether I wanted a gentle exfoliation one day or a luxurious lather the next I already had it on hand. No running around to stores, placing orders, just to be disappointed and less than thrilled with my skin? I started making my own natural soaps and haven't looked back. No fake colors, no extra ingredients, ancestor backed and modernly made🫶🏿🙌🏿Milwaukee
Making your own natural soap not only gives you control over the ingredients but also brings a deeper connection to your skincare routine. I found that commercial soaps often contain synthetic colors and chemicals that can irritate sensitive skin. By choosing each ingredient myself, like nourishing oils and gentle exfoliants, I can tailor my soap based on how my skin feels each day. For example, on days I want a soft cleanse, I use moisturizing oils such as shea butter and olive oil. When I need gentle exfoliation, I add finely ground oatmeal or coffee grounds to amp up the cleansing power without harsh scrubbing. Another benefit of homemade soap is the ability to avoid excess preservatives and fragrances often found in store-bought products. This reduces the chance of allergic reactions or dryness. Plus, the process itself is rewarding and therapeutic, giving me a sense of accomplishment. I also appreciate the sustainability aspect—using natural ingredients and reducing packaging waste is better for the environment. Living in Milwaukee, I’ve joined local soap-making groups and workshops that teach various recipes and techniques. This community aspect adds value, as I get to learn from others and share tips. Over time, my skin has improved noticeably, becoming softer and more balanced. If you’re frustrated with finding the perfect soap, I highly recommend experimenting with DIY recipes. It’s easier than you might think, and you end up with a product aligned with your personal preferences and skin needs.
