First time trying the viral buldak ramen

Make another ramen with me! This was different because it said to drain all the water. It was extremely spicy, but still delicious. Next time I may add 3/4 the sauce packet. Another one to add to the would buy again list!

Like many, my first encounter with the Buldak Artificial Spicy Chicken Flavor Stir-Fried Ramen, often affectionately called 'black Buldak' due to its packaging, was an unforgettable blaze of glory. It's not just spicy; it's an experience that really gets your taste buds tingling. Many of us wonder about those intriguing Buldak seasoning packets. The red packet is where all the magic (and the intense heat!) happens – it's the signature spicy sauce. The black packet usually contains dried flakes, like sesame seeds and seaweed, adding texture and a savory note. If you found the original spice level overwhelming, a common tip is to start with just half or three-quarters of the red sauce packet. This is a game-changer for enjoying the flavor without the extreme burn. You can always add more if you're feeling brave! For those who might find the original 'black Buldak' a bit too much, there are other fantastic varieties to explore. The 'blue Buldak' or Carbonara flavor, for instance, is a popular choice known for its creamy, milder profile. It still offers a kick, but the creaminess from the cheese powder helps to balance the heat. Other flavors like Cheese, Curry, or Jjajang (black bean sauce) also provide different taste experiences with varying spice levels. It’s all about finding your perfect match! If you're committed to the original but want to dial down the Scoville rating a bit, there are several tricks. Adding a slice of cheese, a dollop of sour cream, or a splash of milk can remarkably cut through the spice. Some people even add a fried egg, allowing the yolk to mix with the noodles and create a richer, slightly milder sauce. Make sure you properly drain water as instructed; too much residual water can sometimes dilute the flavor but not necessarily the heat in the way you'd want, making it less enjoyable. Remember, the goal is to enjoy the unique flavor, not just endure the spice. Experiment with these additions to customize your Buldak ramen experience. Happy slurping!
