Each chocobo can learn a variety of active and passive skills that can turn the tide of a race. Picking the right skills for your chocobo's stats and your playstyle is crucial. Do you go for a burst of speed at the start with something like Choco Dash? Or conserve stamina for a powerful finish with Choco Cure? Maybe you prefer disrupting opponents with Choco Meteor! I remember one race where I timed my Choco Dash perfectly on the final stretch, zooming past everyone for a photo finish. It was exhilarating! But I also had races where I misjudged my stamina and my chocobo just face-planted into the finish line, completely exhausted. Live and learn, right? My biggest tip for anyone starting out: don't get discouraged by early losses. It takes time to understand the mechanics, identify good abilities, and train your chocobo effectively. Experiment with different skills, try to learn the track layouts and their unique hazards or boosts, and most importantly, have fun with it!
