Leftover cranberry sauce… turned into candy.

Cranberry sauce lollipops. Not perfect. A little messy. But somehow the first thing gone.

INGREDIENTS

• 1 can Goode Foods Cranberry Jellied Sauce

• 1 packet unflavored gelatin (or reduce sauce longer if skipping)

• 2–3 tbsp water

• Optional: a little sugar if you want it sweeter

• Wooden sticks

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Slide the cranberry sauce out of the can and chop it up into a saucepan.

2. Heat on low until it softens and breaks down into a thick, glossy mixture.

3. In a small bowl, mix gelatin with water and let it bloom for 1–2 minutes.

4. Stir the gelatin into the warm cranberry mixture until fully dissolved.

5. Pour onto parchment or into molds in small round shapes.

6. Add sticks (don’t worry if they’re a little off-center… that’s the point).

7. Chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours until firm.

They come out slightly sticky, a little uneven, and taste like something you weren’t supposed to figure out… but did anyway.

... Read moreUsing leftover cranberry sauce to create lollipops is a fun and inventive way to reduce waste and enjoy a seasonal flavor in a new form. From my experience, the key to success is balancing the texture to prevent the lollipops from becoming too sticky or crumbly. When heating the cranberry sauce, stirring continuously on low heat helps break down the sauce into the right consistency. Using unflavored gelatin ensures the lollipops hold their shape, but if you prefer a firmer texture, letting the sauce reduce a bit longer before adding gelatin works well too. For an extra touch of sweetness, I sometimes add a teaspoon of maple syrup instead of plain sugar, which complements the tart cranberry flavor beautifully. Mold choices also affect appearance and ease of removal; silicone molds shaped like candy drops work great and reduce mess. Be patient when chilling—1 to 2 hours is ideal to get the perfect firmness. These cranberry sauce lollipops make a delightful homemade gift during the holiday season or a fun addition to dessert tables. They’re slightly imperfect, a little sticky, but that’s part of their charm and homemade appeal. They offer a perfect balance of tart and sweet and provide a creative way to enjoy Goode Foods Cranberry Jellied Sauce beyond the typical uses. For additional variety, experimenting with adding spices like cinnamon or ginger powder can yield delicious festive flavors. Overall, this recipe transforms leftover cranberry sauce into a whimsical treat that surprises and delights, proving that simple ingredients can create something memorable.
