What helped me the most was connecting with communities that resonated with my identity, such as other Black women creators and moms sharing their own stories. Engaging in hashtags like #blackgirlstreamer and #postpartumjourney allowed me to find support and inspiration, reinforcing the idea that feeling pretty and confident is diverse and deeply personal.
Incorporating dark aesthetics, like the goth style I love, also empowered me. It became a way to express my individuality and strength, reminding me that beauty is multifaceted. Dressing authentically and channeling my personal style played a vital role in boosting my self-esteem.
If you’re on a similar path, remember that confidence doesn’t come from meeting external standards but from embracing who you are. Celebrate small wins and don’t hesitate to seek communities that uplift you. It’s okay to have ups and downs; what matters is the progress in finding your inner peace and pride as a mom and individual.
