... Read moreIt's a question I hear often: "Is there a 'right age' to be trans?" Many people, through no fault of their own, assume that kids can't truly know they're trans, thinking they're too young to understand something so profound. But from my perspective, and based on what we're learning about human development, that's not really true. Gender identity isn't simply a fleeting phase; it's a deep, internal sense of being male, female, both, neither, or somewhere else on the spectrum. It's often described as being a combination of personality traits and social constructs. This means as a child's personality develops and their understanding around them grows, so does their gender identity. For me, for instance, as trans, I recall feeling like I wasn't a girl by age 5, even though I didn't have the words for it. If I had known the word for transgender back then, I probably would've identified as trans earlier. It's not about making snap decisions to transition as a child, but about a genuine inner knowing. The idea of forcing a child into a box – the gender box – without free exploration only stunts their development. There's no harm in letting a child explore and identify as trans if that's what feels right to them. I think it's important to clarify a common misconception: identifying as a trans child absolutely doesn't mean immediate, irreversible medical interventions. In reality, gender specialists won't even consider therapy HRT before 16. This means that trans children of 16 aren't making permanent, life-altering medical decisions. Early identification is about understanding oneself, not about rushing into medical steps. It's about providing support and affirmation as they grow. Allowing children the freedom to experience self-discovery, whether they turn out to be trans or not, is a vital part of being human. It helps them build confidence, trust their own feelings, and navigate the world authentically. Trying to suppress or deny a child's gender identity can be incredibly damaging to their mental well-being. What trans kids need most is to be loved, supported, and given the space to be themselves. We need to let them have a normal childhood, free from judgment and societal pressure to conform to roles that don't fit them. So yeah, I honestly believe we should just leave trans kids alone to explore their identities in a safe, affirming environment.

Signs you’re in the right major 🌸🌸
I used to constantly ask myself: did I just waste a whole year? What if there’s better majors out there for me..? The truth is, no one really tells you what it’s like when you’re actually in the right major, they just tell you to do what you love, what if what you love is a moving target? So

we spend literally our whole lives hitting roadblocks, learning to overcome them, growing as a result, and then hitting more roadblocks 😅 you’ll never be able to avoid them!! you can only do a better job anticipating them 🫶 i think this (what’s in the slides above) is an amazing rule of thumb
