Are You Really Hearing God’s Voice?
One of the most common questions Christians ask is:
“How do I know if God is speaking to me?”
This storyboard was created to help believers understand what the Bible says about hearing God’s voice and recognizing His guidance in everyday life.
📖 Scripture teaches that God speaks primarily through His Word, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, through prayer, wisdom, conviction, and by aligning our hearts with His truth.
This visual Bible study board helps break down biblical principles into an easy-to-understand format so you can compare what you hear, think, or feel against what God has already revealed in Scripture.

The goal of this board is not to teach people to trust feelings, emotions, or personal opinions. The goal is to point believers back to Scripture, where God has already revealed His character, His wisdom, and His will.
📚 Every Drawn By Scripture storyboard includes Bible references throughout the design so you can open God’s Word and study the passages for yourself.
🤎 As always, these visual resources are not founded on my own understanding, opinions, or traditions. Every board is built directly from Scripture, with Bible references included throughout so that God’s Word remains the authority and the proof.

Understanding how to truly hear God’s voice is a journey that many believers find deeply transformational. From personal experience, recognizing God’s guidance often requires intentional daily practices such as spending quiet time in prayer and meditating on Scripture to cultivate a sensitive heart. A key insight I’ve learned is that God rarely speaks through emotional impulses or confusing circumstances. Instead, His voice aligns perfectly with biblical truths and brings a lasting inner peace. One helpful technique is what I call "testing the whisper" — whenever you feel nudged or inspired, take time to compare that impression against key Scriptures such as John 10:27, which reminds us that God’s sheep recognize His voice. Also, Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages trusting God’s guidance rather than leaning on our own understanding, helping to distinguish divine wisdom from personal opinion. Through this process, I found it essential to stay connected to a supportive Christian community where wise counsel acts as confirmation or correction. The role of the Holy Spirit cannot be overstated: He acts as our guide, illuminating the Bible’s truths and convicting our hearts when we need to realign. Reflecting on stories like Samuel hearing God in 1 Samuel 3 and Elijah encountering God’s still, small voice in 1 Kings 19 reminds me that God speaks in quiet and clear ways, often beyond dramatic signs or emotions. Practically, journaling what God reveals and praying over it has helped me discern His voice more clearly. Taking small steps of faith by acting on the guidance and then seeing God’s faithfulness in opening doors builds confidence in this spiritual discernment. Remembering that hearing God’s voice isn’t about mystical experiences but about deep relationship and obedience shifts the focus to walking closely with Him daily. Incorporating these biblical keys—listening through His Word, prayer, wise counsel, and the Holy Spirit’s leading—can transform how we perceive God’s guidance in everyday life. It invites believers into a deeper faith journey of trust, peace, and growing intimacy with Christ.
