I am filling my garden containers with some fun varieties to make sure we have tons of fresh fruit all summer long! There is something so rewarding about prepping the soil and getting these tucked into their new homes just in time for the season to start. I’ll do another video explaining these and why I am growing in containers :)
• Pink Lemonade Blueberry: such a unique variety that produces bright pink, sweet berries with a floral flavor
• Peach Sorbet Blueberry: stunning foliage that changes colors and berries that taste like a peachy dessert
• Legacy Blueberry: a reliable workhorse plant that I trust for consistent, large harvests every year
• Golden Raspberry: the cutest , honey-sweet twist on a classic berry that adds a unique pop of color to the garden
• Caroline Raspberry: my favorite for its intense, rich flavor and its ability to keep the harvest going late into the season
• Big Daddy Blackberry: giant, juicy fruits that definitely live up to their name
• Triple Crown Blackberry: the perfect thornless, large, sweet berries
Thanks for being here, friend 🌸

... Read moreGrowing berries in containers offers many advantages, especially in limited space or urban settings. From my experience, starting with high-quality soil and ensuring good drainage are key steps when filling your garden containers for a productive berry harvest.
One of my personal favorites is the Pink Lemonade Blueberry. Its bright pink berries are not just visually stunning but also impress with their sweet, floral flavor. It’s a wonderful conversation starter and a unique addition to any garden. I’ve found that this variety does best with consistent watering and partial sun exposure.
The Peach Sorbet Blueberry is equally delightful—not only do its berries taste like a peachy dessert, but the foliage also transitions through beautiful colors, adding ornamental value. Watching those color changes throughout the growing season is like having two gardens in one container!
For reliability, the Legacy Blueberry never disappoints. It consistently produces large, abundant harvests each year, making it a fantastic ‘workhorse’ for gardeners who want a dependable crop. Keeping these bushes well-pruned and fertilized ensures healthy growth and better fruit yield.
Raspberries bring unique twists to the garden too. The Golden Raspberry, with its sweet honey-like taste and striking golden hue, adds both flavor and visual interest. Meanwhile, the Caroline Raspberry stands out for its intense, rich taste and a long harvesting season that keeps the berries coming well into late summer.
On the blackberry side, I highly recommend the Big Daddy and Triple Crown varieties. Big Daddy’s fruits truly live up to their name—giant, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Triple Crown is a thornless variety, making harvesting easier and more enjoyable. Both thrive in sunny spots and benefit from regular feeding.
Overall, container gardening with these distinct berries has been rewarding and fun. It allows for better soil control and easier pest management. Plus, harvesting fresh, sweet berries from your patio or balcony is truly one of summer’s simple pleasures. For those thinking of starting their own berry container garden, consider mixing these varieties for a colorful and extended harvest season.
