How to get from NYC to NJ 🚊

Getting to New York City from New Jersey can be confusing. Especially because there are SO many towns and options but as a Jersey native, I've used every single method of transportation that will take you into the city. Depending on where in Jersey you're coming from, here's how to get into the city:

- Bus: there is a bus in every single town in Jersey that will take you straight into Port Authority, NYC. It's the most convenient way to get into the city (IMO), but you just have to make sure you're making the right times. Download the NJ Transit App and you are good to go.

- Train: you can either take NJ Transit or the PATH train. Not every town has a train station, but a lot do. It's quick to get into the city, especially during rush hour. The PATH also only runs to Hoboken, Jersey City, Harrison, and Newark.

- Ferry: the ferry is the quickest way to get into the city, but is the most expensive. The ferry runs from 3 ports in NJ - Liberty Landing Marina, Warren Street, and Brookfield Place Terminal.

How are you getting into the city?!

... Read moreTraveling from New Jersey to New York City can seem daunting due to the multitude of towns and transportation options available. Understanding the nuances of each method can greatly enhance your commuting experience. **Bus Services:** Buses are a popular choice for commuters and are available in every town in New Jersey. They conveniently drop passengers at Port Authority, NYC, which is a central hub for travelers. The NJ Transit App is an excellent resource for checking schedules and routes to ensure a smooth journey. With frequent services, this option ensures you can find a bus that fits your needs. **Train Options:** Another reliable option is the train. NJ Transit and PATH trains offer speedy routes into the city, especially useful during peak hours. However, not all towns are serviced, so be sure to verify which stations are accessible via the NJ Transit app. The PATH is particularly effective for those commuting from Hoboken, Jersey City, Harrison, and Newark. **Ferry Services:** For those who live near the waterfront, the ferry presents a fast yet more expensive alternative. Operating from three key locations in New Jersey—Liberty Landing Marina, Warren Street, and Brookfield Place—the ferry provides a scenic route to the city. It's ideal for a quick trip, particularly during good weather when you can enjoy stunning views of the skyline. In conclusion, whether you opt for the affordable bus, the fast train, or the scenic ferry, each method has its unique benefits. Choose the right one based on your location and preferences to make the most out of your travel experience!
