Front shoulder pain? Imbalance may be the cause.
If you feel a deep ache or pinching at the front of your shoulder—you’re not alone.
I see this all the time as a massage therapist.
📍The culprit? Your anterior deltoid—often overworked and under-supported by the muscles that are supposed to help it.
Common causes of anterior deltoid pain:
– Too much chest/shoulder pressing 🏋️
– Poor posture (rounded shoulders) 🪑
– Weak rotator cuff & upper back
– Reaching forward all day (phone, laptop, driving)
Over time, this creates:
🚫 Shoulder impingement
🚫 Limited range of motion
🚫 Poor posture
🚫 Pain during lifting or reaching
