10 months ago I ended my relationship. The only one I’ve ever been in, the one that lasted almost half of my life. The one that blessed me with becoming a mom. The one that I was clueless in. That I had zero idea what I was doing.

Getting to know yourself is an interesting adventure. Finding yourself again after forever being a “we” and a mom. Standing on the outside realizing you didn’t know as much as you thought you did about love.

Starting over. Rebuilding a life, friendships, and other relationships. Learning what you like and dislike. Contemplating life.

This experience often leads to a deep journey of self-exploration, where you find yourself navigating through unfamiliar territories of independence and personal growth. In the initial phase, it is common to feel lost, especially if you've been part of a couple for years or if motherhood has taken precedence in your life. It's vital to acknowledge these feelings and understand that they are part of the healing process. Self-reflection is essential; consider journaling your thoughts, exploring your interests, and reconnecting with passions that may have been sidelined. Reconnect with friends or make new ones who share similar interests. Building a support system can provide you with the encouragement needed to reinforce your self-worth and happiness. Learning what you like and dislike again can also be a freeing experience. Whether it's experimenting with new hobbies, traveling alone, or simply enjoying quiet moments for yourself, these activities can help re-establish your identity. Embrace this transitional period as a unique opportunity for growth. Remember that embarking on this journey is not only about healing from the past but also about crafting a future filled with possibilities. By enjoying every moment of life, you can emerge stronger and more self-aware, ready to face whatever comes next.
