1. Cultural events in Chinatown: I love our Chinatown neighborhood and think it deserves more love! Check out events organized by the DC Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs. The next one is the Lunar New Year Parade on Feb 11 🧧🥠
2. Ben’s Chili Bowl: this is a landmark DC restaurant where a bunch of famous people visit, and it’s known for the half-smoke hot dog 🌭 the chili is really good & they also have vegetarian options!
3. Local vintage & artisan markets: there are regular markets at Dupont circle farmers market and Eastern Market, plus if you keep an eye on social media you can find a pop-up nearly every weekend. 4. Dupont Underground exhibits: a really cool arts space where the streetcar used to run under Dupont Circle 🚇 (plus in the ‘60s, a bomb shelter??). I really enjoyed their exhibit on public space in Europe, and looking forward to the next one
5. Philips Collection: this art gallery isn’t public so you have to pay, but it’s worth it in my opinion if you’ve already seen the others! it feels small and intimate but there’s still a lot to see. 🖼️ plus the cafe and outdoor seating is really nice in the fall or spring🌷
