Rhea isn’t feeling So good :(

Today we had an emergency visit to the vet…

She’s refused to eat food for three days, has awful diarrhea, and has been vomiting a lot for two days.

She has had Giardiah (I think that’s how it’s spelt) in the past so I was pretty worried. They gave her two shots of hydration fluid which is why she looks like a linebacker lol, gave us paste to give her every night for three days to harden her stool, and chicken in a can for a bland diet.

She’s doing okay right now but she’s very tired! I will update you all!!

... Read moreWhen dogs exhibit severe symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea, it's crucial to consult a veterinarian promptly. In Rhea's case, previous health issues like Giardia can contribute to these problems. Keeping your pet hydrated is essential; dehydration can exacerbate their condition. Vets often administer hydration injections to help restore fluid balance. In addition to hydration, a bland diet can support recovery. It's common for vets to recommend easily digestible foods, like canned chicken or rice, to aid in soothing upset stomachs. Dog owners should monitor their pets' eating habits, ensuring they regain appetite post treatment. Regular check-ins with vets can also provide guidance tailored to your dog's needs. Lastly, if your dog has had similar symptoms before, consider discussing preventive measures with your vet. Regular health check-ups can help detect underlying issues early, preventing future emergencies. Remember to always pay attention to your dog's behavior, as changes can indicate health problems needing immediate attention.
