I’m a Christian, of course I know the cost-
But do you really?
Do you still say “yes God, I’ll still follow you” when you have to bury your own children?
Do you still say “yes God, I’ll still follow you” when you lost your job?
Do you still say “yes God, I’ll still follow you” when everyone turns their back on you and you feel so alone?
Or how about when everything that could go wrong, absolutely does go wrong?
It’s easy to say “yes God, I’ll still follow you” when your life is going grand, but it’s on those tough days where you are wondering if he is still there that make it difficult to answer the call.
When I gave birth to stillborn twins almost two years ago my world was shaken. I mean I literally tried to end my life. I didn’t know answering the call would mean this. I was so angry at God. Why would he allow that to happen? But as I look back- I still don’t really understand why that had to happen but what I can say is that God was there every step of the way and it produced a strength in me I never knew I had.
Saying yes to God means saying no to everything else.
It’s a true surrenderance that has to happen.
Are you willing?
My prayer for you all today is that you will selflessly say yes to the call that God has for your life. That you will completely surrender everything to him and allow him to have his way in your life. Amen.
