3 GREEN FLAGS IN A RELATIONSHIP

One thing I do NOT TOLERATE in my life is toxic relationships of any kind.

It takes a certain level of self-respect to know what your own boundaries are and to be able to communicate them clearly.

Honestly, I think that that is the first step to having a solid foundation to ANY relationship. If you can’t respect yourself, you will never know what respect should look like from another person.

Through my own experiences and what I’ve witnessed in my life, I always knew that I wanted to stand up for myself when it comes to who I have in my circle. Especially when it’s to do with the love of my life .

Here are three huge green flags that I’ve realized since being in a healthy relationship:

1. Wants to spend time with you.

It doesn’t mean that you need to spend 24 hours a day with each other. However, if you feel like you are having to constantly beg your partner to hang out with you, that is a clear indication that they do not have their priorities straight.

2. Wants to show you off

I used to be in a relationship where my boyfriend never wanted to show me off or even say that we were together in the first place. It broke my heart because I felt as though I should be embarrassed to be with him. My current relationship, my boyfriend wants to show me off the world because he’s proud of what we’ve established and who I am. For that reason, it’s a green flag.

3. Is secure with themselves

If your partner is insecure, they may feel the need to control you. Something I’ve had to teach myself is that; no matter what you do to try to control your partner, they will always end up doing what they want. So, let them show you who they REALLY ARE without trying to change them. If they are secure with themselves; they will allow you to live your own life outside of the relationship, under the impression that you are both on the same page and loyal to each other.

Understanding the signs of a toxic relationship can prevent emotional distress, while identifying positive traits can enhance your partnership's longevity. Here are three essential green flags: 1. **Mutual Time Investment**: Healthy partnerships thrive when both individuals prioritize spending quality time together. Look for a partner who values your presence and enjoys sharing experiences, creating memories that strengthen the bond. 2. **Pride in Your Relationship**: A partner who publicly embraces you and your relationship fosters a sense of pride and comfort. This behavior not only boosts self-esteem but also reinforces commitment and trust. Conversely, if someone hesitates to acknowledge your relationship, it can create feelings of insecurity. 3. **Self-Confidence**: A partner’s self-assuredness can profoundly affect relationship dynamics. Individuals secure in themselves are less likely to exhibit controlling behaviors, allowing for a more balanced, respectful partnership. They promote independence while maintaining loyalty, which is essential for long-term happiness. By recognizing these green flags, you can build a strong foundation in your relationship, fostering mutual respect and emotional fulfillment.
