FATS ARE YOUR BEST FRIENDS

Fats are your best friend

When it comes to weight loss, low carb, low fat diets have been pushed on us for years. It wasn’t until I saw the negative effects of it myself that I realized how unsustainable it was.

Fats are so crucial for overall health and bodily function. Especially for women. When I cut my fats low, I had no energy, hair loss, dry skin, and hormonal imbalances like crazy. Below are the three main reasons why healthy fats are so important:

1. Hormonal health and inflammation

Healthy fats are essential for hormonal health because they provide the building blocks for hormone production, support cell membrane structure, and help maintain stable blood sugar levels. They also have anti-inflammatory properties, which can reduce chronic inflammation and improve overall health.

2. Hair, skin, nails

Healthy fats are crucial for vibrant hair, skin, and nails because they provide essential fatty acids that your body cannot produce on its own. These fats help maintain the lipid barrier of your skin, keeping it hydrated and smooth. They also support hair growth by nourishing hair follicles and prevent nails from becoming brittle.

3. Allows body to lose fat (organ function, vitamin absorption)

Healthy fats are great for fat loss and essential for vitamin absorption. They help regulate appetite and satiety hormones, making you feel full and satisfied longer, reducing cravings, and preventing overeating. Healthy fats also slow down the digestion of carbohydrates, preventing spikes in blood sugar and insulin levels, which can lead to fat storage. Healthy fats are also crucial for absorbing fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K, which are vital for overall health.

Healthy fats, such as avocados, olive oil, and nuts, not only provide energy but are essential for maintaining overall health. These fats can improve heart health, promote brain function, and support weight loss. Moreover, incorporating healthy fats can help regulate appetite, making one feel satiated for longer periods and reducing the tendency to overeat. Additionally, it's vital to recognize that fats are critical for absorbing fat-soluble vitamins. These vitamins—A, D, E, and K—play significant roles in various bodily functions, including vision, immune function, skin health, and blood coagulation. Incorporating a variety of healthy fats into your meals can ensure that you meet your nutritional needs and enhance your wellness journey. Understanding the benefits of healthy fats and incorporating them responsibly into your diet can lead to significant improvements in overall well-being.
