3 TIPS TO STOP CARING ABOUT OPINIONS
It breaks my heart knowing how many people stop chasing their goals simply because they are afraid of being perceived…starting my social media accounts has been the BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE, yet as someone with anxiety, it was also the scariest thing I’ve ever done. From that point on, all I could ever want is for more people to feel the pure happiness of truly chasing their dreams
That being said, here are 3 reasons why you SHOULD NEVER care about what people think:
1. Ask yourself if you would ever take ADVICE from that person. Chances are the answer is that you wouldn’t. If the opinion is coming from someone you genuinely care about or have a close relationship with, then they may just be trying to look out for your best interest. Regardless, it’s not anyone’s business to be putting pressure on what you do with your life, especially if they know less than 10% of who you are.
2. Realize that most judgement comes from insecurity. It might not be directly because you have something that they don’t, but simply because “you do you” better than “they do them”. Confidence is a powerful tool yet it can be intimidating to those who maybe don’t have as much of it. Chances are, if you’re doing something worthy of forming an opinion or talking about, you are doing something right;).
3. Stay in your lane. It doesn’t matter what anyone says or thinks about you if you are head set on where you’re going in life. If you can stay true to yourself and keep your values in check, people who view life similarly will naturally fall into your circle, you just have to believe it and keep going!
Navigating the complexities of societal judgments can be challenging, especially when pursuing personal goals. The pressure to conform often stems from deep-seated insecurities in others, manifesting as criticism or unsolicited advice. Recognizing this can provide a liberating perspective—if someone offers an opinion, ask yourself if their life choices align with your aspirations. If they do not, their perspective may not hold the weight you once attributed to it. Building a strong self-image involves understanding that confidence can provoke others’ insecurities, prompting them to judge rather than celebrate your achievements. Embrace the fact that your choices reflect your path, and not everyone will understand or support your journey. Staying true to your values and goals is essential in cultivating a fulfilling life. Surround yourself with individuals who uplift and encourage you, as they are likely to resonate with your vision and share in your success. By focusing on self-acceptance and deliberately choosing your social circles, you can create an empowering environment that nurtures your dreams. Remember, it's not about seeking validation, but about celebrating your personal growth and relentless pursuit of happiness.
