3 TIPS TO GET THROUGH A BINGE

I know the feeling. I used to struggle with binge eating when I was way too restrictive with my diet. Since overcoming it, I want to share some advice that really helped me move past those moments and stay on track after a binge:

1. Distract Yourself: The first thing you want to do is shift your focus. Go for a walk, call a friend, or dive into a hobby. Anything that gets your mind off the binge and onto something positive can help you reset.

2. Get Back to Your Normal Eating Habits: Often, we binge because we restrict ourselves too much. The best thing you can do is return to balanced, normal eating without punishing yourself. Find foods that fuel your body and allow for flexibility, so you don’t feel deprived.

3. Reflect and Have Self-Compassion: Take time to reflect on what led to the binge and have compassion for yourself. This isn’t about guilt—it’s about learning. Come up with a new, sustainable plan that allows you more freedom while still making progress toward your goals. A flexible approach will help you avoid that cycle of restriction and overindulgence.
