Year of the Snake

Traveling around the world opens one’s five senses Celebrating the start of Chinese New Year, we head to the Forbidden City in Beijing.

Dating back to the Ming dynasty dating back to 1420. For centuries the Forbidden City was barred limited access by most of Chinese citizens including government officials.

Using feng shui architectural design, the 90 “compound” layout is known for its red walls and yellow glazed roofs.
