Where I'm going to be after the Tik tok ban๐Ÿ‹

As I'm sure we all know by now tik tok is going to be gone in the USA on the 19th (unless something stops this from happening). We don't really have a clear answer as to what's going to happen with Lemon8 when tik tok leaves as it's owned by the same company, because of that I wanted to talk about where I am going to be after tik tok gets banned. Just in case Lemon8 is gone too.

๐Ÿ“ทI have an Instagram that I wasn't really active on until recently and am planning to be more active on in the future. That link is in my bio or it's @green.eclipse_reads

๐Ÿฆ‹I made a BlueSky recently and have been posting over there trying to figure it out. My social is @greeneclipsereads.bsky.social

๐Ÿ’ปNow for what I think is the most exciting! I started a bookish blog! You can check that out and subscribe to get notified via email when I post. Link is in bio or it's greeneclipsereads.com

I have been using tik tok so long I remember everyone making videos freaking out about it switching from musical.ly to tik tok. It's going to be a sad day when it leaves and affects so much more than our ability to doomscroll. I am also upset about the uncertainty of lemon8's future. I have been posting here since April of 2023 and have really loved it here. Lemon8 became my favorite platform. I talk more about how Lemon8 changed my life in the about page of my blog if you want to check that out. I love the community here and don't want it to be gone. Thank you if you read this far. I appreciate you๐Ÿ’•

... Read moreAs the TikTok ban approaches in the USA, many content creators and users are left wondering about their next steps. The uncertainty of Lemon8's future, being owned by the same parent company as TikTok, adds to this anxiety. Despite the shifting social media landscape, there are alternatives that creators can explore to keep their content alive. Instagram has become a popular choice for many influencers to share their moments and connect with audiences through posts and stories. Over the years, users have also turned to microblogging platforms like BlueSky, which provides a fresh take on social networking. Additionally, for those passionate about niche topics, like books, starting a dedicated blog can be an enriching experience. Websites can help foster a deeper sense of community and allow for more elaborate content that isnโ€™t constrained by platform algorithms. As we transition away from TikTok, it's vital to remain adaptable and explore these new opportunities. The digital landscape is constantly evolving, and while change may be challenging, it's also a chance to reinvent how we share our stories and connect with others.
