Walmart Finds- Book Edition📚🛍️

While I wasn't buying any books at Walmart I still like to look so I can add new books to my wishlist and see what's new.

I remember when I first started really getting into reading again as a teenager I would look up what to read because I had absolutely no idea.- I know, weird. I like to do these posts so someone who is having the same struggle I did can get an idea of what books others find interesting. It may seem strange but I have a feeling a lot of other people feel the same way I did. They don't know what to look for in a book isle or at a library. I hope I can give somebody a jumping off point into the world of reading so it's not so overwhelming.

Now onto the books!

🪻Belladonna series by Adalyn Grace boxed set

•YA Gothic Romantasy

These have been on my wishlist for a while. Gorgeous gorgeous covers and I love a good series.

🐦The Starling House by Alix E. Harrow

📚"A grim and gothic new tale from New York Times bestselling author Alix E. Harrow about a small town haunted by secrets that can't stay buried and the sinister house that sits at the cross roads of it all...."

📕What a gorgeous cover. I love a good haunted house moment and it seems like it has a bit of romance👀

🏰One Dark Window by Rachel Gallig

📚"....When Elspeth meets a mysterious highwayman on the forest road, her life takes a drastic turn. Thrust into a world of shadow and deception, she joins a dangerous quest to cure Blunder from the dark magic infecting it. And the highwayman? He just so happens to be the King's nephew, Captain of the most dangerous men in Blunder...and guilty of high treason...."

📕I have fallen in love with gothic fantasies recently. This is a book one of a series that has been on my radar for a while now. It's definitely a want to read

🧹The Coven by Harper L Woods

📚"....The Coven is book one in the Coven of Bones series and ends on a cliffhanger. This is a gothic, dark-academia, paranormal romance and includes elements that may be triggering to some listeners.

📕I have seen very mixed reviews of this book and need to see what everyone is talking about."

🏥Ward D by Frieda McFadden

📚"...And as the hours tick by, Amy grows increasingly convinced something terrible is happening within these tightly secured walls. When patients and staff start to vanish without a trace, it becomes clear that everyone on the unit is in grave danger. Amy's worst nightmare was spending the night on Ward D. And now she might never escape."

📕I have really been enjoying Frieda McFadden and this is one I haven't seen before. The summary sounds super interesting 👀

🧙🏻‍♀️Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix

📚"...They call them wayward girls. Loose girls. Girls who grew up too fast. And they're sent to the Wellwood Home in St. Augustine, Florida, where unwed mothers are hidden by their families to have their babies in secret, give them up for adoption, and most important of all, to forget any of it ever happened..."

📕This is a feminist historical fiction with witchcraft. I will always instantly want to read anything that's this vibe. Beautiful cover too.

👑Carrie by Stephan King

📚"A modern classic, Carrie introduced a distinctive new voice in American fiction -- Stephen King. The story of misunderstood high school girl Carrie White, her extraordinary telekinetic powers, and her violent rampage of revenge, remains one of the most barrier-breaking and shocking novels of all time."

📕I know the basic premise of the movie but have never seen it or read the book. Carrie is one I want to read as part of wanting to read more Stephan King

... Read moreIt’s always a treat to wander through the book section at Walmart, isn't it? I often go in for groceries and somehow find myself lost among the shelves, discovering new reads. What really surprises me sometimes is the sheer variety and quality of books you can unearth there, often at really competitive prices. If you're wondering 'what are some popular genres available in Walmart's book selection?', you're in for a pleasant surprise! My recent trip proved that you can find everything from thrilling suspense to enchanting fantasy. For instance, I was captivated by the 'Belladonna' series, a fantastic YA gothic romantasy pick that just screams 'add to wishlist.' And if you're like me and love a good haunted house story, 'The Starling House' by Alix E. Harrow is a perfect gothic fantasy find. These aren't obscure titles; they're often popular books that have made their way onto Walmart's shelves, making them easily accessible. I also noticed 'One Dark Window,' another gothic romantic fantasy, which is exactly the kind of immersive series I crave. A pro tip for finding those hidden gems: always keep an eye out for the 'Walmart bargain bin' or clearance sections! While I didn't see a specific "bargain bin" on this trip, I know they often have great deals, and you might just snag a highly anticipated release or a classic for a steal. It's a great way to expand your personal library without breaking the bank. Sometimes, these sections are where you can 'search for books by title Walmart' for ones you've been eyeing, hoping they've landed on sale. Beyond fantasy, I often spot compelling thrillers. 'Ward D' by Frieda McFadden, for example, looks absolutely gripping—perfect for a weekend read. And for something a bit different, 'Witchcraft for Wayward Girls' by Grady Hendrix offers a unique blend of feminist historical fiction with a touch of gothic horror. Even classics like Stephen King's 'Carrie' make an appearance, reminding us of timeless stories available in the 'walmart book section.' The selection often reflects current bestsellers and popular trends, so you're not just getting leftover stock. I truly believe that Walmart's book section is an underestimated resource for readers. Whether you're a seasoned bookworm or just getting back into reading, it's a fantastic place to browse, discover new authors, and add exciting titles to your collection. Don't underestimate the joy of flipping through physical pages and finding your next literary adventure right there among the aisles!

Witchcraft for Wayward Girls is amazing!! I’m a huge Grady Hendrix fan and I went to his book tour for this book. His passion is so infectious. And the authors note at the end had me sobbing. He just GETS IT !!! 😭❤️

Starling House was amazing! I listened to the audiobook because I couldn’t focus on the book. (ADHD can be a b!tch, especially if you’re burned out from schoolwork)
